I was, once upon a time, a former figure skater (novice ladies, silver dance level) and still had my old skates from 20-25 years ago. I now take my 5yo skating, and the old skates were AGONY on my feet - just too small. I certainly don't anticipate any double jumps or even singles in my future, but I needed a strong enough boot to be what I'm used to and to be able to handle some edges and basic decent skating (and maybe ice dancing someday, if I decide to go back to that). I looked around, and this skate fit the bill. I am happy to say that these skates are exactly what I wanted. I measured my feet exactly with an on-line Jackson skate measuring guide and the skate fits perfectly. They are as stiff as I need and probably ever will need again. The blades are fine, and came pre-sharpened (at least well enough) to be able to be used out of the box. Very happy with my purchase. These figure skates are the most comfortable, best-fitting skates I've ever worn. As a 5'4'' female, weighing about 135 lbs, I was looking for some quality skates that fit better than the rental pair. These skates provide excellent support for the beginner skater, allowing me to skate forwards, backwards, and attempt basic jumps and spins without feeling wobbly or unsupported! It seems that these skates run a tiny bit small. As I have wide feet, choosing about half a size up from my street shoes (size 8.5) was the best choice. Still, I recommend using the Jackson skate sizing chart! These skates are great quality and are exactly as described. My son outgrows them before they even show wear, so we've been able to hand down like-new skates to others. I don't usually like to order size-dependent things online, but we didn' have a choice for men's figure skates. Fortunately, the handy size chart is right on and the skates are perfect. My son loves his new Jackson Ultima Classic series skates! He is currently in Learn to Skate Basic 6. These new skates have provided him enough ankle support to better perform the skills he is now being taught in class. Ordering was very easy and they arrived in plenty of time for Christmas. I am hoping to order again as he continues to grow. We are very happy with our purchase! This skates are perfect for beginners and/or initial Freestyle levels (1-3). They are a bit tough at the beginning, in my case, had to bake 3 times, but now that it molded to my feet, they feel great. Fast shipping. My daughter is nine years old. She has been a figure for a year. She is a very relaxing skate learn to jump and spin. I've tried other brands, but Jackson is good at catching ankles.Rather cheaply constructed. Resin heal unlike good quality skates that have a wooden veneer. Low grade blades. I think it would be worth an extra $70 to buy much better quality skates. Too large for my daughter. Order a half to whole size smaller than shoe size. Not the manufacturers fault on size though, it's a difficult item to purchase without trying on first. We kept them because my daughter couldn't wait to try them! Christmas gift.Love these skates and arrived in perfect condition, I ordered these and my son a pair of skates on the same day , I have prime and they arrived a day later than my sons skates, well worth the wait, could not be more pleased with the skates or the price I paid for them. This is my first ever ice skates but I've owned 4 pairs of inline skates over 20 years. As it would be difficult for me to return the skates from Singapore, I had to do a copious amount of research to ensure I got the right size on the first go.My normal shoe size is no smaller than US9, sometimes US9.5.Thanks to a ton of advice on Amazon reviews, I did the size chart and ended up with US7.5. It was a little worrying, tbh.To be safe I got the US8 and it turned out to be PERFECT. The right foot feels kinda tight, but after a 90 min first session, there's zero lasting pain.I believe it will only get more conditioned and comfortable. After experiences with crappy rental skates that constantly hurt my ankles, I could not have asked for a better outcome.I feel a lot more control and better gliding. The boot is stiff and the blades are nice sharpened.
